Independent Visitor, Appropriate Adults and Advocacy Services
Independent visitors provide friendship, support and a positive role modeling in the life of looked after children, as well as vulnerable adults or young people. Independent visitors are carefully matched to the needs of each individual. The Independent Visitor will meet with each individual on a regular monthly basis to take part in activities they both enjoy.
A long term, stable relationship with an independent visitor can make a huge difference to persons life. Support is also provided to enable the individual to speak out about any worries or concerns, at the same time of fostering a relationship of trust.
Mental Health and Supported Living
Support is offered through providers of support or care.
We offer services on a crisis basis where an individual is in immediate need of an independent person to represent them at short notice, as well a non- specific independentsupport service.
Visits from an Independent visitor or Advocate can be made over an agreed period of time, specific to each provider and individuals they support.
Providers of mental health support are able to benefit from specialist Drop-In Group Sessions tailored to the needs of the people supported in the service. This could be at a head office location or an alternate agreed location.
Children, Young People & Transition support
Support can be offered on an issues/case bases, or non-specific independent support for an agreed period of time through providers of support or local authorities. Visits are preferred to be made on a consistent regular basis.
